It's been 4 weeks since we started our series on uncovering the majesty and glory of God through His names. This week, as we wrap up this series, we will cover how much our God, our King loves us. (Find this series in the future under the category - Series: God's Names.) Close your eyes for a minute and imagine a glorious king. He sits throned with rubies and topaz, surrounded by a rich crimson robe. His crown gleams in splendour and shines in pride for his kingdom. He wants the best for his kingdom and delights in his subjects. This is our God. He delights in us, and he wants the ultimate best for us. He loves us. He loves us so much, that He sent His one and only son to pay for our sins. But for those who have grown up in the Church, it can be difficult to know God at this level. You know the story. You've heard it a thousand times. But have you really looked at it and thought, Wow, God really did that for me? He saved us. He saved us from eternal punishment for our sins. Because he loves us. "...the Lord is our King; it is He who will save us." -Isaiah 33:22 Thank you so much Sarah W. for helping stage and photograph the photos for this series.
Have you ever considered the majestic beauty that God has an amazing, perfect plan for your life? Have you thought about how he knows what you will be doing 20 years from now, and even what you will be thinking in the next few seconds?
Trusting is a big part of life. You're trusting your friend to bring the right colour of bristol board for your project, or trusting your teammate to catch that pitch. But that's not what i'm talking about. I'm talking about trusting God. Ask yourself today, are you putting your trust in God's plan for your life? Are you trusting that no matter what, God is right there, leading and guiding you? Simply trust in God. That's all there is to it. Our world is broken, corrupt in sin, and engulfed in so many awful, terrible things that are too ghastly to put into words. Take a look at the news. Horrid events cloud the headlines with terror and fright. Amidst these dark times, it's difficult to hold onto hope - to hope for restoration for this broken world.
Simply because we're Christians, doesn't mean we are free from suffering or far from grief or spared of heartache. This world is flooded in sin. There is no doubt about it. But there is hope, friends. When we become Christians and put our trust in God, and let the light of the Gospel shine a light into the bleakness of this world, we are filled with hope and pure joy. Whatever comes our way, we do not need to fear. God is always there, guiding us through every second of our lives. My mother and aunt sustained difficult years as children. As they grew up, they grasped for hope and healing. The darkness of the world engulfed them in hopelessness. But then they found Jesus. His healing and un breaking love healed them from their painful childhood and set them free from the chains of sin. "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death." -Romans 8:1 |
